I enjoyed reading your post. When looking over Voice Dream Weaver" (Jim Lerman), I came across a great creative writing tool such as "The Heart Work of Persuasive Writing" where teachers came up with teaching writing with the use of a craft.
I like your ideas for Facebook. I do believe it's vital for a library to have a page, but I also believe you have to be careful. Like pages are tricky and many people can post comments that you can't control, so honestly I am bit weary about using it with students. I do believe it would be a great source for parents though. Older students, also don't enjoy using Facebook, so maybe that's why you didn't really see any likes or comments. Teenagers are not the active users on Facebook, but rather adults.
